![]() Kids Cotton Candy MachineIf you are looking for a bargain with a kids cotton candy machine always check out the popular auction sites, I am sure you will find something there. However, there are so many sites devoted to these machines that you will have plenty to look at. Usually with the kids versions of these machines you will get enough supplies to produce 48 cotton candy cones, which are disposable, 16 oz. each of blue raspberry and pink vanilla flossing sugar. You need to take into consideration that mostly these machines are made from plastic and therefore are not going to be as robust as other home machines. Do not expect them to be able to perform the same as a grownup version. They all seem to score well with reviewers as to their fun and educational abilities, but unfortunately durability does not score that highly. There are some other brands of a kids cotton candy machine that are more expensive they certainly look it, they look more substantial and I believe they perform a lot better. They actually look like a scaled down version of a proper cotton candy cart such as you would see at a fair or ball game. They would enhance any kitchen and not look at all out of place. Although these machines are designated as ‘kids’ always remember that there is heat involved, this is necessary to melt the sugar in order to be able to spin it. Loading the machine is another area where there could be accidents, your child might forget that it has to be filled when the machine is not turned on. If sugar is introduced while the machine is spinning, then you will have sugar also spinning, all over the place. Not only can this be messy as the sugar particles soon turn sticky, some of these particles could fly into the child’s eyes. They should always be advised to wear glass/goggles when using the machine and there should be adult supervision, I think that is very desirable to make sure that no accidents happen. Why wait for the fair to come to town, you can have that taste whenever you want it. Mind you I am not advocating that children should be allowed to eat this confection all day and every day. Some curb should be put on their appetite for sweet treats. 1 oz. of sugar will contain between 105 and 115 calories and apart from that you have their teeth to consider. You must be able to govern just how much the kids cotton candy machine is in use. Of course there is always the possibility they may grow tired of it when it is constantly on tap – NOT. I don’t know of any child, or adult for that matter, who doesn’t like cotton candy. It is not one of those things that you do tire of. |
